Our goal is to give everyone a taste of our passion through the many special desserts we offer and personal attention we give. We don’t consider ourselves a business in the normal sense of the word, we consider ourselves a family, and we’d like our guests to feel the same way. When we see that small smile of delight appear on a person’s face after sampling a pastry, or look of awe after trying a Pennie Cake for the first time, we’ve accomplished our goal.

Pennie’s loved ones would describe her as a strong and amazing woman, who just happens to make amazing cakes! A proud mother of three and a spoiling grandmother of two, Pennie lives for others. She is happily married to an amazing man and they are constantly on the move. When not attending to the needs of her family, friends, and church, she enjoys boating on the weekends, and spends her winters in Florida. For over 40 years she’s been providing the Butler area with her delectable cakes and desserts. Pennie’s Bake Shop & Espresso Bar is more than premium ingredients, homemade recipes, and her self made reputation; there is truly something special about her.

Bestwick
Mike is a Butler native and enjoys great food, music, and sports. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration as a marketing major from Slippery Rock University. After college he lived in Philadelphia and Monroeville, before returning home to Butler five years later. Filled with creative ideas, attention to detail, and a drive to be the best. He is not yet living the dream, though he has been known to dream.
