Our goal is to give everyone a taste of our passion through the many special desserts we offer and personal attention we give. We don’t consider ourselves a business in the normal sense of the word, we consider ourselves a family, and we’d like our guests to feel the same way. When we see that small smile of delight appear on a person’s face after sampling a pastry, or look of awe after trying a Pennie Cake for the first time, we’ve accomplished our goal.
Pennie Bestwick Wogan
Pennie's loved ones would describe her as a strong and amazing woman, who just happens to make amazing cakes! A proud mother of three and a spoiling grandmother of two, Pennie lives for others. She is happily married to an amazing man and they are constantly on the move. When not attending to the needs of her family, friends, and church, she enjoys boating on the weekends, and hopes to soon spend her winters in Florida. For over 30 years she's been providing the Butler area with her delectable cakes and desserts. Cakes by Pennie is more than premium ingredients, homemade recipes, and her self made reputation; there is truly something special about her.

Diane has a love for art, creativity, color, and sweet treats. After high school she attended Edinboro Universtiy to study different types of art, from drawing to sculpture. While there, she experimented with cake decorating, and fell for a new art form. She then transferred to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and received an Associate’s degree in Baking and Pastry. After school Diane landed two great jobs working at a well known bakery, Oakmont Bakery, and a private club, The Duquesne Club. Although she gained valuable experience, she was unable to do what she's passionate about, cake decorating. She is excited to utilize all her skills here at Pennie’s, including her natural talent for cake decorating. Diane's a fun loving person to be around as she loves to laugh, have fun, and dance around. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 4 siblings. Diane requires sunlight; whether if she's out in the woods or at the beach, she loves the outdoors.
